The Pigeon Detectives' music is all about being unlucky in love, with songs like 'I Found Out' telling the story of finding out the girl you like is going out with someone else, while 'Take Her Back' is about a failed age-difference romance. Their hit single 'Caught in Your Trap' features a shimmering Elvis Costello-type sheen and tells the story of obsessive crushes.

The band's sound is reminiscent of the lovelorn pop teens of the 1960s, with their music stacked high with unrelenting guitar riffage, shouted blokey harmonies, and a barricade of sound that never slips below 11. It's no wonder they've been compared to the likes of the Kaiser Chiefs and Arctic Monkeys.
